At age 16, she was chosen to play the lead role of Christine as understudy in the UK tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's and Cameron Mackintosh's "The Phantom of the Opera".

Gave birth to her first child at age 32, a daughter. Child's father is her husband, Andrew Buchan. (April 2015)

Nuttall was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Bolton on 14 July 2011.

Trained at both the Arts Educational School in Tring and with the National Youth Music Theatre

A classically trained singer, she fulfilled her childhood ambition of recording her first album, "Best Days", in 2005. In 2006, "Best days" was nominated for Album of the year at the Classical Brit Awards.

A former pupil at Bury Grammar School.
