When the pilot "Good Morning, Miami" was first shot, the character of Sister Brenda was an ancillary character who was meant be to written out of the show. The character of Jake Silver was supposed to fire her, but the studio liked the actress and insisted on keeping her on-despite the creators/writers pleas to get rid of her. She finally did leave the show before it was canceled.

She earned a degree in theater at the University of Missouri in 1988.

She lived next door to actor Tuc Watkins when growing up in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Both Brooke and Tuc have appeared in guest spots on Six Feet Under - Gestorben wird immer (2001).

She played a nun in the short-lived sit-com "Good Morning, Miami" and the CBS success "2 Broke Girls".
