Er war Autor und Produzent, bekannt für Der Grinch (2000), The Hoober-Bloob Highway (1975) und The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat (1982). Er war mit Audrey Geisel und Helen Geisel verheiratet. Er starb am 24 September 1991 in La Jolla, San Diego, California, USA.
