- Besides Arnold Schwarzenegger, he is the only actor to appear in the first three "Terminator" films: Terminator (1984), Terminator 2: Tag der Abrechnung (1991) and Terminator 3: Rebellion der Maschinen (2003)). He portrayed the character of Dr. Peter Silberman in all three films. Neither he nor Schwarzenegger appeared in the fourth film Terminator: Die Erlösung (2009) but Schwarzenegger returned for Terminator - Genisys (2015).
- Has played a psychologist five times: The first three Terminator movies, Die nackte Kanone 33 1/3 (1994) and Familie Klumps und der verrückte Professor (2000).
- Supposedly retired from screen acting in December 2003, but continued to do voice acting in radio, animated series and video games.
- Has appeared with his late wife Carole Kean in the comedy film Die Stewardessen Academy (1986).
- Has appeared in two movies which end in nuclear war: Die Nacht der Entscheidung (1988) and Terminator 3: Rebellion der Maschinen (2003). The former has a character named after Harlan Ellison who was also given a writing credit for Terminator (1984).
- Survived by his wife, Cathy, one daughter, Ruby, three grandchildren, Kimmy, Abaricia, and Kimo Harbin.
- He has appeared in two films that have been selected for the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically or aesthetically" significant: Terminator (1984) & Terminator 2: Tag der Abrechnung (1991).
- Created and directed a dinner show ("Murder By Night") with his late wife Carole Kean that ran at The Cock & Bull restaurant on Sunset Blvd for several years and featured a young D.C. Douglas as the cross-dressing murderer.
