The actor has portrayed the notorious drug lord Amado Carrillo Fuentes - under the pseudonym Aurelio Casillas - in the Telemundo series El Señor de los Cielos (2013), Señora Acero (2014), El Chema (2016) and the Netflix series Queen of the South (2016). Fuentes, known as "The Lord of the Skies" because of the fleet of planes he used to transport drugs, died in a Mexican hospital in July 1997 after undergoing extensive plastic surgery in an attempt to alter his appearance.
