His friend Paul McCartney, of The Beatles, wrote his song, "Yesterday", during a brief stay at Peter's home. McCartney was engaged to his sister, Jane Asher, around that time.

Peter and Gordon reunited in 2005 for a tribute to Mike Smith of The Dave Clark Five. They went on to play concerts around the world. Their last big performance was in August 2008.

He was awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2015 Queen's New Years Honours List for his services to the music industry. He is a musician, manager, and record producer.

Was a member, with Gordon Waller, of the singing duo, Peter and Gordon, whose hit songs included their number 1 hit: "World Without Love", written for them by John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

The first record he ever produced was the The Bee Gees-penned "And the Sun Will Shine" which was sung by Paul Jones with Nicky Hopkins (piano), Jeff Beck (guitar), Paul Samwell-Smith (bass) and Paul McCartney (drums). Beck and Samwell-Smith would become members of The Yardbirds and Jones would front the band Manfred Mann.
