Turned down the role that eventually went to Tuesday Weld in Es war einmal in Amerika (1984).

Made her legitimate stage acting debut at age 13 in a production of "Dark of the Moon" at the Pasadena Playhouse.

On September 23rd, 1976, Kay Lenz appeared on The Tonight Show, and when Johnny Carson asked her if she was married, she said "No, I'm not, and I don't plan to for quite some time." She went on to explain various reasons why she wouldn't get married anytime soon, emphasizing that she was so dedicated to her own acting career that she didn't have time to share with anyone else. And when Johnny said "You probably wouldn't marry an actor anyway, would you?", she quickly replied "No!" Just six months later, on April 3, 1977, she married actor David Cassidy (whom she had met on a blind date just three months before their marriage).
