Her music career far surpasses her acting career. She's released numerous albums between the 70's and 90's, worked with many prestigious musicians of her era, and even represented Turkey in the 1987 Eurovision song contest (where she unfortunately placed last). Nevertheless, she's a very well-known and highly respected singer in Turkey, always considered well ahead of her time in her style, stage shows, and sound.

She ran away from home at the age of 16 to be a singer. She claims she had to change her name to hide from her family.

Has a daughter from an early marriage.
