Practices Northern Shaolin Eagle Claw Kung Fu. Als trained in Tai Chi and Kuntau Silat.

Assisted with the filming of the special features section of the Director's Cut British DVD release of Steve Wang's Drive - Keiner schlägt härter (1997).

Being a stuntman brought him into contact with various Asian countries and different kinds of Asian food. Already interested in Asian food in the 80/90's, but a gig in L.A. started his obsession with traditional Indonesian food because of a certain restaurant (without ever being in Indonesia). Coincidentally, bad food on a movie set, motivated him to cook there. This went so well that it resulted in him becoming a movie caterer.

Admitted that he had a hard time as a Caucasian stunt man in Asia, getting only typical small roles and a low payout, without much fame.

Tartalia created a toy, linked to the "E.T." franchise which resulted in a decent income. This enabled him to focus mainly on training in martial arts, gymnastics and acting lessons. Later he found himself going to Hong Kong, which resulted in 3 years and 30 movies.
