Michael Sheard

When playing Mr. Bronson, who taught French, in the BBC's Grange Hill (1978), he could not speak French, so his wife rewrote all of his French lines phonetically, so that he could pronounce them correctly.
Has described his death as Admiral Ozzel in Star Wars: Episode V - Das Imperium schlägt zurück (1980) as the best death in a movie.
Cited his favourite film appearance was in Flucht nach Athena (1979), where he worked alongside his good friend Roger Moore (who later contributed a foreword to Sheard's autobiography).
Michael played Adolf Hitler in four films (Rogue Male (1976), Das dreckige Dutzend Teil 2 (1985), Indiana Jones und der letzte Kreuzzug (1989) and Hitler of the Andes (2003)) and one television series (The Tomorrow People (1973)); he has also played Heinrich Himmler in two films (The Death of Adolf Hitler (1973) and Der Führerbunker (1981)) and one miniseries (Space - Der Mensch greift nach den Sternen (1985)).
Did his national service in the Royal Air Force.

A soap, like EastEnders (1985), that is an actor's graveyard. They end up there and can never get out, and recently lots of actors have returned there because they just find that they can't get other roles as they are so well remembered for that part.
[on if he was interested in his 'Star Wars' character, Admiral Ozzel]: It was just another part which happened to fit very nicely between two others. I am, and was then, a working actor. An actor who's had some wonderful parts along the way. Mind you, Ozzel did have a rather good death! I'm delighted, too, at what Star Wars has done for me, convention-wise. Why, I finally have my own action figure coming out after all these years!
