- Lucian Pintilie wurde am 9 November 1933 in Tarutino, Bessarabia, Romania [ora Tarutyne, Odessa Oblast, Ukraine] geboren. Er war Regisseur und Autor, bekannt für Endstation Paradies (1998), Sonntag um 6 (1966) und Baum der Hoffnung (1992). Er war mit Clody Bertola verheiratet. Er starb am 16 Mai 2018 in Rumänien.
