In 1996, she was the victim of a freak accident in which a water heater fell on her through the ceiling while she was taking a shower. The accident paralyzed her from the waist down and forced her retirement from acting.

Was considered for the part of Domino in Feuerball (1965). Steven Jay Rubin's 1981 book "The James Bond Films" features a picture of Paul posing in a 'Domino' bathing suit.
