Gianfranco Manfredi was a politically oriented Italian singer and songwriter, who also distinguished himself as a novelist, cartoonist, and screenwriter.

In 2014 he brought a new character to the newsstands, Adam Wild , the protagonist of a monthly series with adventure stories set in colonial Africa.

He studied in Milan , where he graduated from the State University in Philosophy, as a student of Mario Dal Pra . Remaining in Milan, he frequented the editorial office of Re Nudo where he came into contact with the Italian countercultural world . From the anarchist-situationist atmosphere of the Re Nudo group and the pop festivals organized by the magazine, Manfredi found a source of inspiration for his first songs.

Considered one of the best storytellers and scriptwriters of Italian comics, from 1997 to 2010 he told the adventures of Magico Vento, born from his imagination, with numerous revivals up to the three episodes of Guerre apache in 2023. He is also the creator of the series Volto Nascosto, Shanghai Devil, Adam Wild and of that extraordinary collective character represented by Cani sciolti, an unprecedented comics experiment set in recent Italian history - from '68 to the end of the '80s - between protest movements, state massacres, organized crime, restoration and social stagnation.
