Judith Lawrence
- She was awarded the C.M. (Member of the Order of Canada) on October 18, 2001 for her services to performing arts in Canada.
- She still has the puppets at her home on Hornby Island, British Columbia. Her will bequeaths them to the CBC Museum, where other props from the show reside.
- She purposely made Casey androgynous, picking a name which could be either a girl's or a boy's name.
- She made Casey and Finnegan, the child and dog puppets on Mr. Dressup (1967), and provided their voices.
- Upon her retirement Ernie Coombs had announced that Casey and Finnegan were on their way to kindergarten to explain the pair's absence from the show .

- She was born in Australia. She learned how to make puppets after writing to a children's radio show on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and receiving an instruction sheet. The 1956 Summer Olympic Games in Melbourne meant that Australia was getting television on a large scale. She envisioned a career as a puppeteer on TV.
