This film captures the criminal behavior of two young Copacabana thugs (the "cafajestes"). The two plan a blackmail coup against a rich old man, using nude pictures of a lady on a deserted beach. But things don't always happen as planned.

Even so, he is not intimidated, kills the leader of the gang and continue chasing Lucius Flavius. The death squad declares war on the gang of stolen cars. As a result of his investigations, Mariel becomes dangerous to the police. He is arrested but manages to escape. He starts to live in hiding. Margarida Maria is admitted to a hospice and dies of cocaine overdose. Mariel is again arrested but continues to threaten Lucio Flavio, also detained by police. Both are in different prisons. The war continues between the prisons.
