A young historian visits his stepmother in the small village where he grew up. After being away in the city for eleven years he is saddened and grows upset seeing her hardships.

When Andras finally returns home after two years of military service and tries to take possession of the world again everything has changed. The factory where he used to work is now modernized and he is not needed. His girlfriend has replaced him with a nice, tall man. His last hope is Ági, his pen-pal. When they met, it turns out that the letters were written by her grandmother and Ági doesn't like the slightly helpless Andras at all. A new life strategy is needed for Andras.
