This HBO Documentary takes an intimate look at the stories of 4 very different people and the effect alcohol is having on their lives, as well as the effects it has on their families. Meet 20-something Kenzie, who likes to party hard on the weekends; Mike who is close to losing his family if he doesn't stick with a rehab program; Noel, a single mom of 2 girls, who has crossed the line from social drinking; and 57-year-old Neal who's addiction and constant inebriated state has him close to death. Alongside each story, doctors give scientific based info on effects, risks, statistics and treatments options for alcohol addiction.

Robert Mitchum, an admitted alcoholic, narrates this U.S. government short documentary on the dangers of alcoholism, delving into the reasons people drink to excess, the psychology of alcoholics, and recommendations for diminishing the scourge of alcoholism. He discounts so-called "temperance lectures" which focus only on the morality of drinking and recommends education, even for young children, to combat the problem.
