Following a series of assassination attempts on officials of the Japanese-controlled puppet government in 1942 Nanjingn (Nanking), the Japanese spy chief gathers a group of suspects in a mansion house for questioning. A tense game of "cat and mouse" ensues as the Chinese code-breaker attempts to send out a crucial message while protecting his/her own identity.

Set in 1990s China, a young couple who started dating since college time, after graduated they come to work at a city, separately, each lives in a dorm offered by companies they work in, they think it is that time better getting married .
