Sardara lives with his wife, Tejo; younger brother, Kartara; his parents, and sister, Ranu; in a fairly harmonious relationship. The family arranges the marriage of Ranu, and she moves out to live with her in-laws. When they find out that Kartara is in love with Channi, they arrange their marriage, and she moves in. Shortly after the marriage, misunderstandings crop up initially between Channi and Tejo, and then between the two brothers - leading to bitterness and acrimony, as well as their parents moving out. Subsequently, Kartara moves out with his wife to live with his in-laws. The question remains: will this family ever experience harmony again?
