The film is a social drama/black comedy that hammers on the social and ethical contradictions of contemporary Egyptian society. After unveiling the taxi drivers' ideologies, genuine contradictions, self-righteousness and superstition, through engaging him in lengthy conversations, two men decide to manipulate him in order to steal his car. Combining the most effective weapons one can use against ignorance: religion and law, they manage to pull the trick. Attacked from one side by religion, a weapon powerful enough to scare and ambiguous enough to mold, and from another by the intimidating power of the Egyptian police/authority, the taxi driver finds himself trapped in a cobweb
