Gloria is married to Robert Shapiro, a successful businessman. Shortly before the couple's eighth anniversary, Gloria is notified that Evelyn, her half sister, is being released from prison. Appalled by Evelyn's criminal lifestyle, Gloria has never told anyone that she has a sister, not even Robert. A few days later, Evelyn visits Gloria at home.
