Keitaro stumbles upon a forgotten room deep in the basements of Hinata Apartments. There he finds an old doll that seems to possess a will of its own.

Everyone has to leave Hinata House for a day because the inn is undergoing repairs and renovations. It also becomes apparent that Keitaro won't be coming back to Hinata Inn and Naru has completely given up on Keitaro.

Naru now wonders what she should do with her newfound knowledge and it seems like Keitaro is going to be returning home since his grandma has returned to reclaim the inn.

Motoko's older sister Tsuruko makes a surprise visit, and tries to take Motoko home to become their clan's successor. In a panic, Motoko avoids leaving Hinata Apartments by announcing that she is engaged to marry Keitaro, which is news to him.

Everyone decides to have a fun afternoon together at the water park. However, Rito now has a new source of relationship drama: Run has fallen in love with him, too. Through their whole afternoon, she tries everything she can imagine to get Rito's attention. From fishing poles to vacuums and even fabric-eating fish, each of her attempts ends in disaster for Rito. She finally gets some advice from Montemitsu and Rito's teacher, but finds herself in a spot of trouble with the other patrons of the park. Rito steps in to help her and Lala whips out one of her new inventions. Unfortunately for Rito, this is only the beginning of Run's campaign for his affection.
