This abridged version of the 5 part - 5 hour documentary by the same name,allows 15 fine artists to comment on, and illuminate their art for us. At times raw and unpolished, shot and interviewed in their studios and work environment with minimal interference this version introduces us briefly to these 15 individuals, while the 5 part version will elaborate on that. Contains nudity.

Putting a human face on a condition that affects millions.

Whenever we go to museums, galleries or see art in private residences, we are merely observers. This inter-connected series of 5 documentaries aims to change that and give voice to the artists whose art we might admire or are moved by, but to whom we are hardly ever, if ever introduced. We hear and see artists speak about what moves them and why, their favorite medium or pieces, the story of how they started out, and much, much more, creating a more personalized portrait of that man or woman that makes art for all of us to enjoy. Part 1 includes Janusz Gilowics and Aleksander Betko. Part 2 shows us Andy Gollub, Astra Liucija Bagdziunas and Bob Clyatt. Part 3 introduces us to Patricia Watwood, Stephany Zieman & Gallery owner Marc Lambert as well as artist/gallery owner Lee Vasu. Part 4 Takes us into the world of Suzanne Scott & Victoria Selbach. Part 5 Introduces us to Daniel Maidman & Dina Brodsky and Agni Zotis's work. In addition to these artists, most of whom have been working at their art for long periods of time and are classically trained, photos of street art are also included. The latter are mostly included to honor the fact that these street artists, mostly viewed as vandals by 'the 'powers that be' in NYC, are not lesser artists. But for reasons that could push them into a legal/criminal area if they were interviewed photo's that were compelling in some form of the art publicly displayed (and often lasting no more than a day or so on a city wall) it was nevertheless viewed as something not of lesser value when it comes to the contribution of art to our society. Cities like New York have for long periods of time been the center of creative artists efforts, and although there has been somewhat of a lull in recent decades, there is a come-back of some amazing art, some seen in the 100+ galleries downtown, and some never seen before this project.

Night and Day in the City incorporates daily art in the form of street art, display art (such as designs in store fronts), while it lets us glimpse at folks going about their way in the night time in the City, whereas the day time in the city takes on a whole other view.
