A young man who is unable to break up with his girlfriend decides to hire an agency that specializes in ending relationships.

The deterioration of a small community in Fogo Island is forcing its inhabitants to leave and resettle. Places once occupied by humans are now becoming part of the tundra. In spite of a condemned future, there are some residents who decide to remain, holding on to their memories and grieving for the past, when life in Fogo was different.

Juan Orol was born in Galicia, Spain at the end of the 19th century. As a child, his mother sent him away to Cuba, looking for a relative he never found. He grew up wildly and encroached in many disciplines such as baseball, boxing, race cars ,and bull fighting; this last career effort moved him to Mexico, where he got married and started a new life as a cop. After the Cristiada War, he widowed and looked for an opportunity in Mexican Cinema where he hit the jackpot on his first feature and became the main B Side exponent of the GOLDEN AGES of Mexican movie industry in the 20th Century.

The Dead attempts to unmask the lives of Mexico's hyper privileged youth. It draws an anatomy of money as a force that imprisons and blinds its supposed keepers to the social and political reality that envelops them. It also shows the uncomfortable friction between the Mexico where nothing happens, and the Mexico in which too many things happen. The crux of this controversy leads to an unexpected accident which opens the possibility for redemption in the heart of Mexico's horror.

Magos Herrera and Paola Prestini, two renowned musicians and composers of the international contemporary scene, created a long-distance strategy through music to build community and foster empathy in a time of uncertainty and pain. Through intimate testimonies of the musicians, archival footage, animation by Syrian artist Kevork Mourad and scenes filmed by filmmakers Marta Ferrer and Pedro González Rubio, the documentary portrays this process of creation, going through the songs of Con Alma in a journey that goes from the memories and sensations of isolation to the reunions and celebration of life and friendship. A journey full of emotions where collective creation builds friendship, solidarity and possible futures for the next generations.
