In the 90s, when Czechoslovakia splits into Czech Republic and Slovakia, the son of Slovak president gets abducted by mafia in a political scheme of the prime minister.

Oliver is a lonely forty-something working as an air traffic controller. He fills his empty life by watching TV and observing the family living in the house across the street - he regards them as an ideal of happiness. At first he just watches the family, but he gradually wants to learn more about them. He soon realizes that borders of one s private life are more fragile than they seem.

The Land Gone Wild is a television serial composed of forty-five episodes in four series shot in 1997, 2001, 2008 and 2012, based on Jirí Stránský's novels Zdivocelá zeme (The Land Gone Wild) and Aukce (Auction). Combining the retrospective with the adventure genres, it covers the period from the first weeks after the end of World War II till the 1990s, and through the story of its fictitious protagonist - war-time RAF pilot Antonín Madera - describes the real developments in post-war Czechoslovakia.

The story takes place in a reform-camp for the prostitutes of Bratislava. Soon after the political changes in February 1948 a deputy of the Ministry of the Interior decides to clean the city from its subverting elements. After a police raid all the prostitutes are transported to work-camps where they are supposed to be converted to loyal citizens.

Famous actor Juraj is bound to wheel-chair after accident. On charity auction of disabled children paintings he urges to get one of the paintings. That starts interest of short movie director Hana to start making a documentary about him.
