- A period drama set in the early years of the twentieth century. Josef, a former construction worker who delighted in dancing on girders high above the city, who now sweeps up at the circus. Once the big top's owner spots the young roustabout defying gravity on the trapeze, however, he endeavors to pair Josef with his aerialist daughter Alice in a perilous sky-high pas de deux. Offers a romantic view of big top life, with a moth-eaten angel in his feathered, tattered costume.
- When three estranged brothers gather for their mother's funeral the last thing they expected was a family road trip. Mother's final wish was clear: "Take me to the river and bury me with your Father". The reluctant sons, a girlfriend and a coffin squash into a vintage hearse, bumble their way from France to England, and realise that to bury the past there's some digging up to do.
- On October 12th 1978 New York Police discovered the lifeless body of a 20 year-old woman, slumped under the bathroom sink in a hotel room. She was dressed in her underwear and had bled to death from a stab wound. The woman was Nancy Spungen, an ex-prostitute, sometimes stripper, heroin addict, and girlfriend of Sex Pistols' bassist Sid Vicious. In a trial by tabloid newspapers Vicious was pronounced guilty before noon the following day. But the case never had the chance to be brought to trial, and a number of New York cops weren't convinced. Less than six months later in a flat in New York's Greenwich Village, Sid, himself aged only 21, died of a heroin overdose. For the next 28 years the assumption was that Sid did it - case closed. Over time, the death of Sid and Nancy has passed into rock legend and has only added to the controversial and notorious image of the Sex Pistols and punk music. At the request of Sid's mother, who committed suicide in 1996, rock author and punk expert Alan Parker has devoted himself to discovering what really happened in room 100. Parker has re-interviewed 182 people, re-examined NYPD evidence, and gone back to his original interviews with Sid's mother.
- Mr and Mrs Peach's favourite neighbours emigrate to Australia, leaving the grieving Peach's anxiously twitching the net curtains of their suburban cul-de-sac home waiting to see who will be moving in next door. - François Maréchal's life is calm and happy. Married to a young and pretty woman, he's the father of a small boy and has just been promoted - he's now the manager of a video store. Everything seems to be going wonderfully in his well-ordered life - up until the day that Singin' in the Rain comes out on DVD and François is caught in the spell of the wonderful world of musicals. He very quickly reaches a decision: he wants to become a tap dancer. Turning his back on his peaceful happiness, he dumps his wife, child and job to live his sudden, all-consuming passion. A mediocre but persevering dancer, he finally manages to exercise his craft in a provincial nightclub and must confront his past in the shape of his father, whom he thought was dead. Like François, many years ago he'd left home and hearth to become a tap dancer.
- In a small town in Belgium's so-called "black country", where the coal mines closed twenty years ago, 19-year-old Sandrine promotes cheese at the local supermarket by day and does manicures at night. She's long had a dream of opening her own beauty salon. Her mother Anna is fully supportive: she feels that her own life has been a failure and she wants Sandrine's to succeed. One day they hear about a local beauty contest, an event to crown "Miss Montigny". Prodded by her mother, Sandrine enters the contest. She sees it mainly as a way to gain some local recognition and help secure a bank loan for her prospective beauty salon. But Sandrine underestimates the competition she is up against. There's a lot more at stake than a simple sash across a bathing suit...
