Thrill-seeker Billy Smith joins a tent show and meets aspiring novelist Tena Lucian in a small Kentucky town. Because her mother, Widow Lucian, requires an operation to restore her sight, Billy agrees to fight heavyweight boxer Slugger Sampson, who is offering $500 to anyone who can remain in the ring with him for three rounds. Although Slugger's fights are fixed, the town sheriff outsmarts the boxer by insisting on holding the money until the end of the bout. Billy wins the fight, along with the prize money and Tena's love.

Billy is kidnapped by a gang of criminals and forced to drive a getaway car. The gang-leader escapes, while Billy is arrested along with two of the holdup men. Billy escapes and rides the rods to another town, where he becomes acquainted with Harfer, the owner of a racing car, who is being hoodwinked by the car's driver. The driver is fired, and Billy is hired to drive the car in an important race. The gang-leader who kidnapped Billy is determined to prevent Harfer from winning the race and arranges for Billy to be kidnapped again, but Billy escapes from his abductors and arrives at the racetrack in time to win the race. The gang-leader is arrested by the police, and Billy wins the love of Harfer's daughter, Eloise.

Bud Taylor loves Mary Stoddard but is leaving for Alaska in search of gold, leaving a police-dog pup with her that he has named "Phantom." Wade Burton is anxious to win Mary and her father's money. Later, Wade follows Bud to Alaska and attempts to claim-jump Bud's gold strike, but is foiled by Bud and "Phantom."

A motorcycle cop (played by Billy Sullivan) falls in love with a pretty girl (played by Rose Blossom) when he gives her a speeding ticket, and she realizes that she loves him at the dinner she stages, with the help of her uncle, a judge, as a joke on the policeman. Instead of being disgraced, Billy recognizes a silk thief (played by Francis Ford) among the guests and arrests him.

William Gordon, Jr., a constant source of irritation to his airplane manufacturer father, leaves home after an argument. Accompanied by his faithful mechanic, William flies his airplane in search of adventure. He soon meets inventor John Courtney and becomes enamored with his daughter, Helen. To help John overcome an unscrupulous rival who covets his invention, William enters a transcontinental airplane race. William wins the race, thus ensuring a government contract for John and Helen's love for himself.

A young American [Billy Banner] arrives at Valdonia to collect a debt which the kingdom owes his millionaire father. He impersonates a Valdonian prince for a day, and wins the love of Princess Iris, the queen of the kingdom.

Happy-go-lucky Billy, his best friend and their friendly rival, are all sailors on a ship in the U.S. Pacific fleet. While on shore leave, Billy learns that a mad inventor has created a dangerous contraption by which he intends to destroy the entire fleet. The three sailors then spring into action and are able to thwart the scientist and save the fleet after rescuing Billy's sweetheart.

Following a rift with his wealthy father, Billy Mathewson, a young Broadway wastrel, escapes with his friend, Dizzy Durby, to the small town of Salino, where his father's company is building a dam. However, a crooked foreman is engaged in making himself rich at the expense of his employer and the villagers. However, Billy defeats the villain, and also wins Elinor, the daughter of a prominent local resident.

It is love that brings about the awakening of the hero, who finds himself in time to prevent the villain from cheating the hero's aged mother out of her holdings and also making off with his sweetheart.

A stand-off of pride between two families. One family has a pyromaniac in it, while the other, a member of law enforcement. When a detective and friend are killed by the bad boy of the other family, the double-murder is avenged by the father. In the end, the father also dies.
