A young man in love with a girl whose father--his employer--does not approve of him, disguises himself as a hunchback to get into the father's good graces.
A couple fall in love but she is already betrothed to a soldier. When he is reported killed, they hope to marry but these plans are abandoned when her now limbless husband returns home.
