Rock star Billy Jackson is found dead with a bullet in his head, a death classified as suicide. His brother Tom leaves the United States to come to Paris to investigate Billy's former relatives.
In April 1937, in Spain, the Republicans lacked arms. A network orchestrated by the Soviet secret services is being set up all over Europe. Anton, an agent of Stalin, controls the Parisian sector. He was arrested one night by the Gestapo.
In November 1943, 200 resisters from the Paris region were arrested by the Gestapo. 23 of them were shot on February 21, 1944. They are members of the "Manouchian" group, resisting communists foreigners, Jews for the most part.
