A group of passengers traveling around the Mediterranean on a luxury liner enjoy various adventures and become romantically involved with each other.

Set in World War Two occupied France. Several people gather at a house to celebrate a woman's birthday. Some German soldiers are killed outside. The Gestapo inform the group that they must select two of their party to be executed for the crime. It then becomes a matter of everyone trying to save themselves.

A day in a tribunal where the defendants are: the manager of a soccer team, charged with bribery, two Sicilians who have sold fake archaeological findings, two nuns who have offended a public servant and an industry manager.
