Nadezhda works two jobs to support her small family: in the mornings at the district library and in the evenings in the theater wardrobe. One day her life changes dramatically. The owner of the next coat turns out to be from the world of advertising and cinema. He notices that Nadezhda has very beautiful hands with incredible plasticity. This unexpectedly changes Nadezhda's life in the most radical way.

A large metallurgical company where Muscovite Roman Mukhin works takes care of an orphanage in Khanty-Mansiysk. The management unobtrusively recommends that Roman, for the sake of career growth, take care of a child from this orphanage. Elena, Roman's wife, is not against it - she hopes that another child will strengthen their marriage, because the couple has long been in a crisis in their relationship.
