Marco is a good boy. After an argument with his father, however, he lashes out at his girlfriend. He stops just in time before hitting her, he is not like this. But in her tearful look, he realises he has hurt her deeply anyway.

Miriam is a rebellious young woman living in Rome, leading a reckless life of excess and petty crimes. She robs men in nightclub bathrooms and seems incapable of forming deep connections, choosing to exist on the fringes of society. Her older sister, Ines, is her complete opposite: a stable and responsible woman in a solid relationship with her partner Lidia, a police officer. Ines watches with concern as Miriam spirals into self-destruction and tries to help her, but the relationship between the two sisters is complicated and marked by tension. Miriam gets into debt with the clan that supplies her drugs, and in an attempt to repay it, she starts dealing in the area controlled by Riccardo, a kind-hearted guy affiliated with the rival Sorcanera clan. After an initial confrontation, Miriam convinces Riccardo to let her work for him. An attraction develops between the two, leading to an ambiguous relationship fueled by sex, drugs, and a semblance of camaraderie. To pay off her debt, Riccardo suggests organizing a robbery. However, during the heist, everything goes wrong: a shootout breaks out, Riccardo is shot, and Miriam flees. Determined to avenge Riccardo's death, Miriam sets fire to a shipment of drugs belonging to the Spada clan, sparking a feud between the two gangs. Meanwhile, Ines tries to save Miriam from the downward spiral, but their relationship remains strained by old grievances and unresolved issues. As the conflict between the clans escalates, Miriam becomes increasingly entangled in the cycle of violence. In the end, she is forced to confront the consequences of her choices: a point of no return where she must decide whether to seek redemption or fully embrace the chaos she has created.

The story is set in South Tyrol, in the north Italy, during the Second World War. The lives of a Jew girl, Anastasia, and a circus boy, Thomas, meet when the little circus of Freit family arrives in the city. They soon fall in love. But their love is full of sacrifices, because of the racial laws. So Anastasia decides to hide in the circus, but also there the situation is hard because of the son of the Circus Director, Artur, who hates her because of her Jewish origins and wants her out of the circus. At the same time all the family of Anastasia, staying at home, is deported. After a series of unfortunate events, Anastasia will be obliged to mask herself first, then to escape from the circus. The story continues trough thick and thin, following an impossible love story between Anastasia and Thomas.
