- The TV Theatre shows the Wroclaw Pantomime Theatre's performance of "The Nativity Scene" and "The Book". Artistic direction: Henryk Tomaszewski. The recordings were made during the pantomime theatre's guest performance in Oslo this winter. "The Nativity Scene" is based on naive folklore and widely popular Polish perceptions of biblical motifs. The Archangel Michael fights with Lucifer, the angel of light, for first place in heaven. Lucifer is cast out and transforms himself into the devil. Then follows a sequence from paradise. Adam and Eve, the fall, Adam's death, Cain and Abel's rivalry, the devil who incites Cain to murder Abel - and finally Cain who plows the earth and sows. The unifying figure in the play is the Tree of Life, transformed into the figure of Svantevit, a figure from an old Polish folk song. "The Book" is a humorous sketch in which four people, each representing one of the four temperaments, read a novel. The plot of the novel is the classic love triangle: the husband and wife and their lover, who resolves the conflict by shooting the husband. The four read the story based on their temperamental assumptions, except for the phlegmatic who interrupts the reading to fall asleep. Television director: Per Bronken.
