Döngü, living with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchild in a poor neighborhood of Istanbul, has been working as a house cleaner in the home of a wealthy woman named Ayten for many years. One day, Ayten's Kosovar caretaker Lena has an accident in the house, and this incident triggers issues that escalate to legal proceedings between the parties. Pressured by Ayten and her son to convince Lena, Sevim finds herself caught in a web of class, moral, and ethical dilemmas.

The two siblings cannot establish healthy relationships with themselves or with those around them. The siblings, falling into despair, only harm themselves and each other. They enter into an endless reckoning with their parents, their past, and life.
