Bakers from all over the country compete for the title: Master Baker of the Year. Marco Marsepein is also determined to win, after all, he succeeds every year. The secret recipe of his dearest grandmother has never let him down. But... this year Bartus Bakker and his father are also competing for that coveted first place. The evil baker duo manages to steal Marco's secret recipe in a sneaky way and ruin his gingerbread dough. When Bartus Bakker wins the baking competition, Marco is completely defeated. He decides to leave Sinterklaas' castle to return to his native Italy once and for all. But what is the big Sinterklaas party without Marco Marsepein and his gingerbread nuts? All the favorite helpers immediately come to the rescue: Hugo HogePief, Party Piet Pablo, Kim Kado, Bennie Taaitaai, Willem Wortel and Chico Choco. Will they be able to save the Sinterklaas party?

Every year, Sinterklaas and the Pieten eagerly look forward to their big journey to the Netherlands. In the castle, preparations are in full swing. The two new "Pieten-in-Training" (PIO's for short) are soaking up everything like sponges, eager to prove themselves. Everything seems to be going according to plan until disaster strikes. Jean-Claude takes a nasty tumble down the stairs and ends up bandaged. To make matters worse, his Aunt Poets suddenly shows up at the castle. She insists on taking over the housekeeping. Her arrival turns the castle upside down. She's constantly underfoot with her feather duster, shooing the Pieten outside so she can give the place a proper deep clean. Just as the Pieten are getting ready to board the steamboat, Hugo Hogepief calls everyone together with alarming news: the Big Book is missing. A catastrophe of epic proportions. Without it, there's no record of wish lists, without the Big Book, there can be no Sinterklaas celebration. Did Aunt Poets accidentally throw it out in her cleaning frenzy? Or is something more suspicious going on? Unbeknownst to them, a few familiar faces have been lurking around the castle... What are they up to? Will the Pieten be able to solve the mystery and recover the Big Book in time to save the Sinterklaas celebration?

Pleun from Rotterdam has been running Casa Coco, a guest house for reflection and rest on Bonaire, for years. The Rotterdam people from her own circle of acquaintances like to come over for a wonderful holiday together. This autumn, Pleun's childhood sweetheart Toon comes along with a befriended couple after his wife announces she wants to divorce him, to make him forget his problems under the Antillean sun. The two ex-lovers have not seen each other for years. Because Pleun left Toon out of the blue fifty years ago and went to Bonaire, Toon falls back from one problem to another.

The festive arrival of Sinterklaas is overshadowed by a huge problem: due to a large shortage of staff, the tradition threatens to disappear once and for all. Sinterklaas is desperate: where can he find new, good staff on such short notice? The youngest member of staff suggests they organize an audition in which everybody can show off their skills in order to become a member of staff; a so-called 'Piet'. Sem writes a letter to register for this audition immediately. If he can become a tough, strong 'Piet', his bullies will never harass him again. But what nobody knows is that Huibert Jan and his "Mammie" are trying to sabotage the audition with an evil scheme. Will Sem, Patty Pepernoot and 'Piet' Bennie successfully save the audition or is this the end of the festive and beloved Sinterklaas tradition?

Sinterklaas is being kidnapped by terrorists. All his piets have to organize a fundraising in pepernoten to save their fearless leader. Will they succeed to win the race against the clock?

When Sinterklaas's castle is about to collapse, he and his staff have to move out immediately. There is no time to take along any gifts or sweets so Sinterklaas Eve is in great danger.

When Mammie and Stan are freed from jail the two once again set their sights on eliminating the Black Petes and Saint Nicholas.
