After a freak accident, lazy college dropout Tim Bagnall wakes up in 17th Century England, in the midst of the Battle of Worcester. His only way to survive is to help King Charles II escape the city.

Miles E Benedict is a socially awkward teenager living in the crumbling district of Thatcher Heights. Miles begins to believe his life is a story being written by a sectioned schizophrenic with the same name. After finding a mysterious rucksack, Miles sole objective is simply to return it to its owner. However, Miles is soon thrust into an urban odyssey that sees him embroiled in a gangland feud and a love triangle that threatens to ignite all out war. As other characters begin to pursue the bag, Miles becomes convinced it is somehow linked to the fate of the district. The unlikely hero thus faces a race against time to return the bag and save his troubled world from destruction.
