This documentary web series was created for The National Science Foundation in cooperation with NASCAR, in order to teach the science of speed through actual races, animation and interviews with drivers, crew chiefs and others involved in - racing. "You can't win NASCAR races without getting the science right. NASCAR teams push science to its limits to eke out the tenths or hundredths of a second that separate the winner from the also-ran. This video series uses the elements of NASCAR to show that a race car really is a science experiment on wheels" - NSF. Hosted by University of Texas physics professor Diandra Leslie-Pelecky, author of The Physics of NASCAR: How to Make Steel + Gas + Rubber = Speed. Several NASCAR racing champions including Brian Vickers, Carl Edwards and Jeff Gordon are featured as well as notable crew chiefs, engineers and owners from leading NASCAR teams.
