The show engages in lots of touchy feely "chick flick" stuff. Oh look, female character cries. Oh look, female character not happy with how male character behaves towards her. Oh look, episode ends with hug to make it all better (at least for some). The tone is not really that satisfying as a comic book show. Also not satisfying is the limitations and inconsistencies in Supergirl's powers, which this episode really highlighted for me. The character from the comic books is strong on a planetary scale, and we saw some of that in the scene where she lifts a "million ton key" to the Fortress of Solitude (speaking of which, where the hell was Superman all this time??). But in previous episodes, she had trouble escaping quicksand and punching out a military robot, and strained to lift a cable car. Huh? Those things should be effortless for her. In the scene with the ICBM, she should have been able to easily hurl it thousands of miles into space. Instead, she struggles to punch in an abort code?? Yeah, I know, budget limitations. So why bother to do an episode that highlights the limitations? I doubt I'll watch past the first season. I've read that it got more and more woke as it progressed (the plethora of "girl bosses" is bad enough as it is.).
This is another excellent episode -- well-acted, good character interactions (and arcs moving forward nicely), a bit of suspense, but mostly...just fun to watch.
If the second year is as good as the first, this show will be on the threshold of a long run, and well-deserved.
One critic did not like the special effects...well, if you are really watching this show for sfx, rather than the characters and acting (Cat is played so wonderfully it's surprising), then maybe you need to do a bit of self-analysis.
One of the best, most fun shows out there.

So I was watching this episode and I thought to myself, "Why do I want to watch this?". So, I then thought, is DC actually going to do a "Hail Mary" and be the 2 Bil merge with Marvel? Oh wait, did they already do it? ;D I would rate this ep, eh, a 6... They need (fx) to get more action shots in. I can count several that should have been better. Eh. Meh.. Don't like seeing a lead actor on a show led by a villain that used to run a hospital. Mr. Laurie.
This show rocks if you are new to DC. Marvel fans, well, just oobtooobe Superman vs Batman and you know how they look at DC. :D Enjoy! :)
PS: Oh wait, did I offend the SuperGirls out there? If you are reading this, even still, and feel you have something to offer, well then, send it in. Please don't send anything to me. Send it to IMDb. If you send it to me, you might not be able to fly on an airplane. Or you might not be able to leap a building. Buildings are to be leapt. Yes? :D

- TriviaThe device that Non used to reconstitute Indigo's broken body is the Omegahedron, the power source for Argo City in Supergirl (1984).
- GoofsWhen General Mathers spoke to the missile silo guard, the guard informed him that they were at DEFCON 5 (no danger of enemy attack). In that case, the nuclear missile in the silo would not be fueled and Indigo would not have been able to launch it.
