The Copenhagen Test

THE absolute worst intro scene to a series so far.

Looks like they skimped out on hiring an expert to guide the field operation, because everything is wrong. Lingo, gear, standard operating procedure, it was a clown show.

Then the pilot slowly redeems itself into an interesting premise, and actually made me start the 2nd episode.

You only get one chance at a first impression, and this was bad, but the sum total might just sway to a net positive, hence a 6 our of 10.

Hopeful, but not yet convinced.

I agree almost 100% with reviewer Denios35 and almost didn't right a review because it would be a duplication of his evaluation - the beginning to the first episode was nonsense from a realistic stand point but essential to character understanding there after in the episode - which was over done by repeating the trauma far to many time ( at least 6 ) during the first episode . As for Casting - I disagree( with other reviewers ) that the lead is a problem - if you were looking for James Bond or Jackie Chan you will be disappointed but for the role he was ask to play - so far in episode one he is convincing - I would like to see Peacock succeed with another series to justify my subscription :)

My wife and I binged-watched the show in a single day. It's an exceptional show with a captivating storyline and an outstanding cast. It's one of the best shows of 2025. Simu Liu's performance was remarkable, breaking away from the typical Hollywood tough guy stereotype. Cannot wait for the second season!

If you're expecting something original then look elsewhere. This is your run of the mill spy series where no one can be trusted and very few of the characters are likeable. That being said, it is very much watchable. The acting is sufficient and the script is respectable with little to no cringe moments. The writer does an adequate job of convincing the audience to pull for the protagonist. If I could I would give it a 6.5.

Whilst this isn't the greatest spy show, it is a good one.

It's nothing like Inception (movie) but has tiers of depth to it like Inception.

There are people complaining Simu Lius character is flat but considering the plot he kind of has to be (won't write why here as it's a spoiler but you should be able to see why when you watch it).

The premise is simple and not too far away from being credible in the real world, the plot is a simple find the bad guy and reveal who they are etc etc so nothing new there but also kinda the basis for every good and bad spy show/movie there is.

Was different enough to be fun, produced well enough to be entertaining and those complaining the titles being like a Sega game (I owned one) they are deluded and honestly how does the titles have any impact on how good the show is or isn't? A show with no titles or credits would be ideal for me as they are just fluff to the cast and team not part of the entertainment.

As for complaints about the music, well it's no Hans Zimmer for sure so it doesn't stir the emotions his scores do, but it's also not so bad that it ruins the show either.

You either like this kind of spy show (with a tiny bit of science fiction in it) or you don't but bombing it for silly reasons is pointless.

In short, it's a good idea reasonably well executed and I enjoyed watching the plot unfold.
