Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for this anime. I hadn't seen anyone talking about it, and from the cover, I got the feeling it was going to be a typical flat anime where a horny guy sexualizes an elf and that's it. But I found a beautiful story about love and bonds, where you form a family with people you don't share blood with.

The male protagonist is funny; his thoughts and expressions are quite different, and I found that endearing. He's one of those lone wolf types, but he has a lot of love to give.

As a negative, I wish she had taken more action throughout the series and hadn't been so kind and submissive in moments where she could have defended others.

I was very surprised by this anime; I didn't expect it, and I highly recommend it!

This was just a quick find so I wasn't expecting much but it was funny.

The visuals were common anime style with was good. The plot was okay for a beginning season, if that was it then is was lackluster. The character were very one dimensional but the comedy helped flush out the character personalities a bit more.

The main problem I have is the fact that neither of the main characters have any experience with real relationships friendship or romantic before. Since the main character is someone you're supposed to empathize with and more often than not have something in common it's very odd that they won't even have past friendships. I know people are less social so going and saying the right thing to a romantic interest is even more difficult but this was just a major red flag to me. I mean just talking and communicating seems to be the hardest thing for this couple and for most people that's the bare minimum to even start a relationship!

Overall, 6/10 I won't recommend it but it's not a bad turn my brain off to watch something amusing.

Not really a romance series fan but this series has more than just romance to keep it both interesting and entertaining. The magic casting looks good. The characters are well rounded and work together nicely

The character development for Zagan is also interesting to watch as he goes from a walled off lonely individual with trust issues to a well liked well meaning individual that people can lean on. His relationship with his elf companion growth is also intersting to watch as neither one of them share much about themselves with each other but then build a closeness over time that has them completely trust one another

Is it the best anime ever? No, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good one. Even though Zagan is a master sorcerer with a serious tone he can definitely be at times a little quirky and funny. I have enjoyed this show enough that I do hope it continues. If your a fan of spellcasting battles, mythical creatures and character development then I would recommend this.
