Trigger is a must-watch show for fans of hypotheticals and thrillers. The show offers more than entertainment; it challenges viewers to reflect on the delicate balance of power and peace. Trigger is not about heroes chasing villains. It is about ordinary people. Broken, angry, desperate, finally given the means to act. The cast is satisfying to watch, the storyline is engaging and even relatable at times, and each episode offers some food for thought.
Trigger doesn't break any new ground, but it still manages to hold your attention. The plot leans on familiar tropes, and while you won't find any major twists or genre-defining moments, there's a certain comfort in its predictability. The performances are solid, the pacing is steady, and the atmosphere fits well especially if you're looking for something to binge on a rainy day.
If you're in the mood for something straightforward with just enough tension and character drama to keep things moving, Trigger is worth a watch. It won't blow you away, but it won't leave you disappointed either.

I recently finished watching a show that I really liked overall. The story kept me interested from the beginning to the end. Usually, when I watch shows, I tend to skip some scenes, especially if they are slow or if certain characters are not interesting. But this time, I didn't skip anything. Every part of the show felt important, and I actually enjoyed watching it fully. That doesn't happen very often, so it really says something about how good the show was.
Even though I liked most of it, I have to admit that I didn't enjoy the ending. It felt a bit off or disappointing. Maybe I expected something more powerful or emotional. Still, the rest of the show was strong enough that I don't regret watching it at all.
What made this show stand out for me was the plot. It felt new and fresh. I haven't seen many stories like this before, so it was exciting to see something different. The way the story was told was also creative and kept me guessing about what would happen next. That made it fun to watch.
I also liked the characters and how their stories were connected. Even the side characters had a purpose, and their scenes were not boring. That's probably why I didn't skip anything. It felt like every moment added to the overall story.
Compared to another show I watched called Good Boy, I think this one was much better. Good Boy didn't grab my attention in the same way. This show felt more unique and well-made. It's always nice to find something that surprises you in a good way.
Overall, even with the ending, I really enjoyed the experience.

Isn't a bad show, the action is solid, the characters are there, and the lead actor is genuinely talented and nailed his role. But there's something missing. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but the series just didn't resonate with me emotionally or leave a lasting impression. It's one of those shows I watched, thought "okay, that was fine," but I wouldn't rewatch it or recommend it enthusiastically. Good performances, decent pacing, just lacking that something to make it memorable.
I found this interesting and disturbing at the very same time. Interesting in that whether they were trying to express a personal or political point of view it really did bring an intense emotional response.
The disturbing part was not only the violence but also how people respond to bullying and hateful behavior.
Korean dramas lately have been replete with violence and bullying scenarios. If that is indicative of Korea or everywhere I don't know. What is both interesting and disturbing is that in nearly every scenario in this drama they behaved as if there were absolutely no other ways for them to get the perpetrators to stop or to see justice done.
As social issues, like bullying, for example professionals need to make sure options are known for children and adults to protect themselves safely.

I went into Trigger thinking it would just be a dark thriller, but it ended up being one of the most unsettling dramas I've seen in a while.
The whole premise - what happens when weapons become as easy to get as a phone - sounds simple, but the way the show explores it is anything but. It slowly peels back layers of fear, power, and desperation, and it made me think about how quickly things could spiral in the real world. It's not just about guns - it's about trust, control, and the terrifying idea that anyone could be capable of violence when given the means and the push.
The psychological tension builds quietly but intensely. You start asking yourself: What would I do in this world? Who would I become?
And I have to say, the actor playing the villain is perfectly cast. He has that unnerving presence - he doesn't overact, but every movement feels dangerous. I don't know how he does it, but he really owns these unhinged, chaotic characters in a way that makes your skin crawl a little.
I know some people say the premise of this show isn't realistic - that it's "too far-fetched" for weapons to suddenly flood into a country like this - and honestly, I get that criticism. But if you can accept the "what if" the show is built on, you'll be rewarded with a truly gripping and disturbing story.

"Trigger" is a courageous and thought-provoking drama that tackles sensitive issues with depth. Rather than offering simple thrills, it urges viewers to reflect on where violence comes from and why it is often overlooked. Some scenes may feel intense and unsettling, but their realism adds to the story's urgency.
Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang deliver layered performances, conveying emotional scars even in action-heavy scenes. This isn't just an action series-it's a psychological journey through humanity, responsibility, and trauma.
Though it may not be light entertainment, it rewards those who watch with understanding and empathy. "Trigger" reminds us that we should not judge stories on the surface, nor shy away from difficult conversations. It is a timely and important piece of storytelling.

This is a series that might offend many US viewers who consider having a gun to be a right. Here we see a Korea that sees guns as a menace that must be kept away at all costs.
It is a polished, well acted and directed production, of the quality we have come to expect from K-dramas. Not for the squeamish.

A thought provoking narrative about guns and violence, revenge of the past - Trigger is a good concept with a so-so execution.
The story follows Kim Nam Gil as officer Lee Do, who is investigating the culprits of bringing/smuggling guns in the country. The drama had a good theme - psychological impact of violence, the dangers of unchecked gun violence, and the societal factors that can lead to unrest.
The action sequences and the character of Lee Do is praiseworthy, however the pacing was uneven, with many unnecessary subplots. The writing was fine, but certain characters were underdeveloped. While the series did build a gripping story, the antagonist and the ending were generic, rather than intriguing.
Overall, Trigger is a decent watch with strong concept and a good performance from Nam Gil, however is pulled down by uneven story pace and unsatisfactory ending.
My Rating : 6.5/10.

Trigger started off with so much potential, but then just devolved into nonsensical bs. The kind where you have to suspend ALL belief. There is absolutely NO WAY somebody is going to get that many guns into a country, before getting caught long before all hell breaks loose. I finished the series so YOU don't have to, because it just gets worse as it goes along. It ends up being completely irreconcilable. The action scenes were great and acting was decent, but the story just lacked any REAL credibility, in the wrap up.

This isn't just a gripping ingenious thriller. It's the best way to bring up the gun debate with an entertaining and involving story. The unflinching story depicts Korean society where guns are only available to law enforcement and the military and what happens if guns are introduced into private hands.
The story telling has several strong points. It has both an intimate focus and also later shows the large scale effect on society. The intimate story lines focus on individuals and their reasons and rationale for wanting a gun and demand justice are quite involving. There are some gripping scenes especially the school shooting where you feel for the shooter who is bullied. Initially you must concentrate on the different characters because each set of characters plays a part. What is good about the story is that is shows it is not just bad guys who want the guns, wronged but good people driven to desperation also want them. The story starts with isolated incidents and small time gangsters before escalating as the guns spread.
Superb cast including the versatile Kim Nam Gil who plays a serious hero. Kim Young Kwang impressively stretches his range in this role. Do watch him depart from his usually goofy charmer role.
Ultimately the message isn't preachy but it is effective. Anyone interested in the gun control debate should watch this series.

A limited Korean series of 10 episodes. Basically a thriller genre set in South Korea wherein an Arms dealer starts identifying frustrated individuals in society n starts supplying free guns discreetly to set violence across the country. How do Cops identity the gangster n control the widespread free guns distribution forms the storyline. A unique storyline n a decent execution. I personally expected more tensed intense setup which it lacks somewhere. Nevertheless worth a watch. Each episode is of 45 mins average timeline. Available in Hindi dubbed as well over Netflix. My ratings 6.5/10!

Netflix's "Trigger" is a tense and immersive series that grabs your attention from the very first episode. The storytelling is sharp, the characters are well-developed, and the pacing never lets up. With its atmospheric visuals and strong performances, the show delivers suspense and intrigue without ever feeling predictable. From the very first scenes, this action thriller grabs you and doesn't let go. It's bloody, it's intense, the acting is solid, and although you can ascertain what the twist is fairly early on, you still have no idea what the outcome with be in the end. It's written that well.
I would also consider it a clear, brutal reflection, near parody, of the USA, it's gun obsession and irrationality, and how people allow themselves to be manipulated by those most concerned with profit, not freedom, public safety or society.
"Trigger" takes the well known Korean troupe of bully and revenge to a new level with its "What if?" action packed series. Sometimes you do root for "the bad guy". And there is talk of a season 2 already.

You're probably here because you're asking: Is the series worth it? The honest answer is: No, unfortunately not.
In Trigger, "unknown" firearms are sent to the general public, even though such weapons are banned in South Korea. As a result, the police - including our main character - are completely overwhelmed.
We're then introduced to a boy who's constantly mistreated by those around him, receives one of these weapons, and goes on a shooting spree.
Unfortunately, the show doesn't just tell this story once or twice - it does it three times, each time with different characters. Naturally, this means we never get the chance to form any real emotional connection to the victims, since the supporting cast keeps changing. After being introduced and developed for one or two episodes, they're just gone for the rest of the show. And honestly, to show us how deeply bullying can affect someone, the first story would've been more than enough.
As a result, multiple episodes are wasted retelling the same thing in different shades, while the main plot barely moves forward. At least during these episodes, the antagonists - various gangsters - are introduced. But even here, the show decides to drop pretty much all of them about 60-70% through the season. Suddenly, the focus shifts, and it's no longer about the characters that were built up - instead, it's back to the whole firearms issue.
But that theme has already been hammered into our heads through the repetitive storytelling of the first half. As for the main antagonist, he suddenly gets the most cringe, over-the-top writing. Any trace of logic is completely thrown out the window.
Here's an example: The people sending the weapons use packages with a big red logo of the organization on them. Now, millions of weapons are being smuggled into the country. Police quote: "There's nothing we can do, it's hard to intercept the packages! 80 million packages are shipped daily!"
Of course, there are apparently no agreements with major shipping companies to scan for those marked packages, and it's also impossible to trace them... Meanwhile, the military isn't deployed, even though more and more civilians are arming themselves and mass shootings are on the rise.
The antagonist casually shoots a couple of cops and then gets interviewed live on-site by a journalist, broadcast on every screen in the city. Do the police send reinforcements to arrest him? Nope. He just gives the interview and walks off.
And that part was supposed to be a secret - that the reporter is being paid to follow and film the guy whenever he shows up. But of course, the reporter runs up to him with a live camera and the antagonist even asks, "Are we live?" and the reporter replies, "Yes, I've got you perfectly on camera, this will be a great shot."
It's not like the news station would ever ask, "Wait, you know the man who's flooding our country with guns and said nothing?" or "You're assisting him in murdering police officers?"
The whole thing ends in a very underwhelming way. After the series is before the series.
Save yourself the time. If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend My Name - similar genre (gangsters + cops), and one of the best (Korean) series of all time. Also available on Netflix. Enjoy :)

Trigger (2025) is an explosive and emotional masterpiece. The performances by Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang are top-tier - intense, layered, and unforgettable. Every episode feels cinematic, blending heart-pounding tension with deep emotion. The writing, direction, and cast come together flawlessly, making it easily one of the best K-dramas of 2025. A must-watch for every K-drama fan!

Trigger is a slick, gun-fueled thrill ride that delivers on both action and style. The series centers around firearms and it doesn't hold back. From precision shootouts to choreographed "gun-fu" combat, the action sequences are incredibly well-executed and visually captivating.
The lead actor really stands out, bringing a believable and commanding presence to the role. You can tell a lot of effort went into making the character feel like a true firearms expert, and it pays off big time.
The story builds steadily, though I'll admit the ending wasn't quite what I expected. Still, it left just enough open to make me hope (and wait) for a second season.

This is quite an entertaining show, just treat it as a fictional film and do not question how or why it could happen if it is in real life.
The two leads are both excellent, though not your usual good looking Korean leads. It is however a good change of scenery though.
The bullying culture in Korea is rampant, and the incompetence of the police force somehow depicts the situation almost accurately as we can see from the Kim Soo Hyun/Garosero incident, and the Lee Sun-kyun suicide, among others.
I have to admit, somehow it is satisfying to have a gun and just off that person who inflicts so much pain on the victims. Fortunately, it is a fiction. But it did let viewers think carefully how we should act and behave as a decent human being, be more sensitive to other people's feeling and stop the bully culture.
