- Follows the now-adult Ralphie as he returns to the house on Cleveland Street to give his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had as a child, reconnecting with childhood friends, and reconciling the passing of his Old Man.
- Chicago, December 1973. Thirty-three years after the events of Christmas Story (1983), Ralphie Parker is now a married man with a family of his own. And excited about Christmas, Ralphie heads back to his memory-laden childhood home in Indiana with his wife and kids in tow to spend the holidays. As he reconnects with his mother and old friends, determined to make this the happiest Christmas ever, Ralphie has to live up to the family's holiday-celebrating expectations, even though he doesn't know where to start. Can Ralphie pull off the impossible and surprise everyone with a memorable, magical Christmas? He also reconciles with his dad's passing.—Nick Riganas
- As in Christmas Story (1983), adult "Ralphie" Parker recalls a Christmas from his past, this one 1973 when he, his wife Sandy, and their two adolescent children Mark and Julie lived in suburban Chicago. Giving up his corporate job a year earlier, he, with agreement with Sandy, has until the end of the year to get some of his writing published, or else he will return to his corporate job. He has provided his epic two thousand page novel to sixteen publishers and has so far received fourteen unceremonious rejections. Things changed that year when Ralphie received news that his father, who was fondly called "the old man" and who was the king of celebrating Christmas, passed away on December 19th, the family summoned back to Ralphie's hometown of Hohman, Indiana to be with his mother. Unlike the maudlin scene they were expecting, Mrs. Parker, beyond asking Ralphie to write to write the obituary, wanted them to celebrate Christmas as the old man would've wanted. But Ralphie taking charge in place of the old man didn't turn out quite the way he expected as one disaster after another happened.—Huggo
