I didn't like their characters and performances in The Fountain of Youth. Both were too over the top of whatever personality they're supposed to have. So poorly done, it was pointless.

Didn't care what happened to them. She's always instantly against him. And somehow for zero reason comes around and goes with the flow. Happens again and again and again and.... need any more "agains"?

Yes, part of the issue might be from the writing. But both tried really really hard to be over the top. And they failed.

Neither are believable as "action heroes", especially her. Now, Eliza Gonzales, yeah, she should've been Portman's character. Much more believable as an action hero.

Movie tried very very hard to be funny. Umm, not funny. When you have to force "funny", it ain't funny. Nothing natural about it from Krasinki. Just lame lame lame. Bad acting is 100% on Krasinski.

Neighbor walked over around beginning of Act III. Told her, "This movie sucks. But, I've watched this much. So, let's see what happens. Act III was decent. Still, so sloppy trying to figure out who is on whose side.

Movie works the same WITHOUT Act II. So, watch Act 1 and 3 and you've seen all you need to see. And, it might be a pretty decent movie!

Alex Garland is a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE writer. I will never ever ever watch another movie written by him.

At least Sunshine was super Oscar compared to Civil War. Don't remember Civil War, but I gave that one a one star review.

If I had known Garland wrote this before starting watching, I probably wouldn't have watched.

Keep in mind, I am a "screenwriter". I know how scripts should be written. This one was a complete and utter mess of a script.

If you kinda don't understand what's going on, it's because the script SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS.

Cannot tell you how many times in Act III where I'm asking myself "Umm, which ship are they on? Where is that guy?" I could write dozens of questions with absolute NO answer, except "It was written that way because the writer SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS. It's just the way it is to be what Garland imagines in his empty mind.

I am 100% not a Star Trek guy. Star Wars for life. But, I'll watch any Star Trek movie to see what's up. Only thing I know is Spock is Vulcan. Yeah, I know Captain Kirk and Scotty. None of those characters are in this movie.

Watched with eyes wide open. I'm not gonna know who any of these people are. So, I must pay attention.

As a screenwriter, I analysis from that perspective. It's a decently written script. Yeah, there were small things here and there I would've done differently. In beginning, Emperor meeting with Star Fleet or whatever they're called was a bit off. Ignored it and moved on.

I might have enjoyed this movie more if I knew what Section 31 is. In the movie, it kinda sounded like they are the bad/good guys. Broke rules, but not jailable or death.

Ok, you might be able to figure out who 1 of the bad people is. It was a little bit telling. I guessed and I was right. Didn't matter, because it was a circus to find out who it was.

Even then, I could not have guessed who the real bad person is.
