It's actually pretty funny watching the writers and producers contradict and embarrass themselves as they try and fail to discuss the "deeply meaningful" and "metaphorical" aspects of this movie. No, seriously, look it up, they make up all sort of nonsense lol. They're just dishonest and disrespectful of the viewers. This movie is for shock value, that's it. They wanted to put the worst sexual fantasies they could think of into a movie. They couldn't even give it a proper title. It's silly, no plot, bad acting, cheap production, no character development. It just jumps from one disturbing scene to the next.
I think some people forget that not every show is meant to be tailored to their tastes. Man vs Baby is a family comedy, not an edgy adult one, and that's the point. It's made to be light, safe, and funny for all ages, especially kids. The humour is lighthearted, occasionally cringey, and yeah, it can be frustrating watching the main character make one silly mistake after another, but that's by design. It leans into nostalgia and it's meant to make you both roll your eyes and smile. It's not meant to be a masterpiece or a show to remember forever. Don't take it too seriously. If you go in knowing it's a goofy, feel-good Christmas special for the whole family, you'll probably enjoy it a lot more!
John Carter was a lot more fun than I expected. It kept me entertained from start to finish, with plenty of humor and some surprisingly charming characters. It feels like a movie anyone at any age could enjoy. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous, seriously, I kinda wish I'd seen this on the big screen.
That said, it definitely could've been shorter. Not every movie needs to hit the 2-hour mark, especially when the plot is pretty predictable. It also leaves a bunch of questions unanswered, like it was clearly setting up a sequel that never happened. Still, I had a good time watching it. It's not perfect, but it's a solid, feel-good adventure I'd recommend.
