Sneaky Pete is a terrific three-season series on Netflix. Sadly there will not be a fourth.

Marius (Giovanni Ribisi) is a piece of work. In prison with cellmate Pete (Ethan Embry), he hears all about Pete's family, their farm, their bail bond business, his childhood, until he can't take it anymore.

Happily Marius doesn't have to listen to it much longer because he's released from prison. He then gets bad news from his brother Eddie: They still owe $100,000 to gangster Vince Lonigan (Brian Cranston) so Marius has to go into hiding.

Marius changes his name to Pete and heads for his cellmate's family farm. They haven't seen Pete in twenty years. He has no idea what he's walking into. They have no idea what they're in for.

À very clever show, with Marius/Pete working some of the best cons ever, and there was always a big surprise at the end.

The cast was wonderful, with Margo Martindale as Pete's grandmother a standout as she endeavors to keep the bail bond business together. Peter Gerety, Marin Ireland, Shane McRae, and Jane Adams all play fully developed characters.

Giovanni Ribisi is perfect as Marius/Pete - a likable con man who can't help becoming involved with this problematic family despite just originally needing a place to hide.

Three seasons wasn't enough, which is to be expected when Brian Cranston is involved as one of the creators. Sneaky Pete will keep you hooked.

1969's megahit, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, directed by George Roy Hill, is marvelous fun and introduces us to the fabulous chemistry between stars Paul Newman and Robert Redford.

Redford was a virtual unknown when cast as Sundance, but director Hill liked his laid-back quality. Since the studio didn't want him, he asked Newman to intercede in order to have Redford cast.

As slick bank robbers on the run from the railroad, Butch and Sundance manage to be both witty and clever, with Sundance the expert shot and Butch the strategizer. With the railroad relentlessly pursuing them with a posse, the two flee to Bolivia, taking Sundance's girlfriend (Katherine Ross) along.

After several years of hiding as well as robbing banks (sometimes using a crib sheet for the Spanish language), they again find themselves pursued, this time by an army.

The story, however, is about the relationship between two people, and one couldn't ask for more gravitas or charisma. Without Newman and Redford, this might have been just another western.

Instead, it's a classic.
