Parasite

Mystery. Comedy. Drama. Thriller A peculiar tale about two families who are worlds apart yet somewhat alike portrays a striking reality of the world we live in. Gi Taek (Song Kang-ho) and his family are all unemployed. When his eldest son, Gi Woo (Choi Woo-sik), begins to give private lessons at the house of a man named Park (Lee Seon-gyun), the two families start to interact in unexpected ways.
Media Author Review
United States
The Hollywood Reporter
"A mostly successful detour into morally complex social realism (...) Gripping and finely crafted."
United States
Variety
"Bong is back and on brilliant form, but he is unmistakably, roaringly furious, and it registers because the target is so deserving, so enormous, so 2019: “Parasite” is a tick fat with the bitter blood of class rage."
United States
The Playlist
"A consistently entertaining film that takes up the stratification of Korean society as its target. A demented and often-uproarious class-conscious satire, 'Parasite' falls slightly short of Bong’s greatest work."
United States
IndieWire
"The giddy, brilliant, and totally unclassifiable 'Parasite' proves that Bong Joon-ho has become a genre unto himself (...) [It] takes all of the beats you expect to find in a Bong film and shrinks them down with clockwork precision."
United States
Vanity Fair
"I staggered out of the theater thrilled by 'Parasite's singular vision, yes, but also feeling pretty wrecked (...) There’s an anger at work in the film, but what’s more effective is its ruefulness"
United States

"A unique piece of work that never remains confined to just one genre (...) [It] will stick with you long after the end credits roll and remain under your skin (…) Rating: ★★★★★ (out of 5)"
