Its hard to be original sometimes. They almost look like the grunts from starship troopers haha.

Finally time for an update. I have finished my second Sentinel....referred to as Light Urban Recon Sentinel or L.U.R.S in my Army.I tried a little bit of wear and tear and battle damage again on this model along with an Awkward looking Hunter Killer Missile (the jury is still out on the very ACME looking red warhead)

Didn't notice the dust, I'm noticing it on mine but haha.I'm currently side tracked doing a grey knights terminator squad with a mate.

Sounds like fun mate. I start getting impatient after about 5 grunts haha but I find it very rewarding to do it slowly and take a lot of care.You will definitely need to post a picture of your Infantry when they are done that's a pretty substantial force.I'm no expert but if you want to know how I did any particular aspect of my models feel free to ask.Good luck mate.Thanks for your feedback.

@ Hmelrose. I'm considering outlining the black in the camouflage with a mix of 60/40 chaos black/shadow grey i will have to do a small trial on my unpainted Sentinel first though.

In regard to the base I was thinking something along the lines of some light, rough sand I 'liberated' from my local beach front, and giving it a watered down coat of Adeptus Grey then a dry Brush with a lighter grey and a light badab black wash. I desperately need to base my models but have been flat out lately.Hopefully i can dedicate a day to painting this week. Wish me luck

Hey, Sorry for the Delay. Finally here is the shots of my Exterminator with my attempt at some chipped paint and rusting and also some battle damage.Also gave the tracks a dry brush of tin bitz to make them look like tarnished dark steel.It shows up all right in the photos but its a bit hard to see all the detail.My first attempt at this particular technique, learnt a lot while doing it. C&C is appreciated, hope you enjoy, thanks for your time.

I like doing the Grunts I just havnt had time but I will make some. Got some new paints and brushes today to have a go at the exterminator so hopefully I'll have pics soon.I brush but I seen a guy on the Youtubes that sponges and it looks awesome.One day maybe.

Thanks mate its a big relief i didn't ruin it.Excited about doing the tank now, i have a few ideas lined up.Ill be getting the 2nd sentinel started form just primed tonight then after that ill do Russ number 2 from scratch. I dont even want to think about my infantry (still on the sprues) haha.

Ill have to try out the Germans for some stuff. Probably almost cheaper for me to fly there and pick it up myself

Hello readers, after a lot of good feedback about my vehicles needing a little more realism, I have decided to have my first go at battle damage / wear and tear on one of my sentinels.This is my first attempt at this sort of thing so I was a bit worried about ruining my model so I didn't go too crazy.Just some chipped paint on a few edges and the legs and feet, and some light battle damage on the drivers door.I think it came up pretty good and now I'm more confident about hitting my other vehicles with a similar treatment.Anyway ill post some pictures and hopefully i can get some C&C from you guys. Thanks a lot for reading, hope you enjoy the pics.

Cheers mate, did you read the fluff in the dakka fiction section or on blogspot?There is two parts in the Dakka Fiction topic but only one on blogspot, I must change the link in my signature.I want to do more but wasn't sure if anybody wanted to read it as I got very little feedback.I can be pretty critical of my work and thought maybe it fell a bit short with readers.I would love to continue as I have a huge story written in my head. I'm flattered you want to use P.M803, what's your plan for it? I plan on changing it's name now it will be colonized and I have BIG plans for it.

I'm no tank man in real life but I am an anti-armor specialist in the army I'm probably going to drybrush the tracks with some tin bitz and add some paint chips and dark dust to it like it's been through rubble.

I see what you mean, I want to add some weathering and battle damage but I have never done it before.I have only painted a handful of things so I want to practice first but it will definitely be happening down the line.Cheers for the C&C mate much appreciated

Cheers mate thanks for the C&C.The hole tank has been washed twice with badab black twice and all the metal 3 times, but my efforts seem to be wasted by the flash on my IPhone.It's much darker in natural light and much less blue and the metal isn't reflective.I'll have to get a photo under natural light with no flash and post it here.I thought exactly the same thing as you when I seen the photo too.

Here is the pictures of the newly painted Exterminator, I wont bomb you with the before Photos as they can be seen a few posts above here.I think it looks a lot better and the camo actually works to break up the shape of the tank,Even against a paper backdrop.It ties in a lot better with my army too.I think it really would be effective in an urban environment

FINALLY a new update. I have put the Camouflage paint job from the Sentinel onto the Exterminator because it looked a little flat and out of place.Pics incoming in the next few minutes.

Cheers mate,Theres a tonne of budget new and used 40k kit on EBay so why not.One of my sentinels was the old kit but there really isn't a difference between the two in their current configuration?just the pilot.The big difference is the closed top and the metal parts.
