Most museums require an advance, time-ticket reservation for free admission on the “Free-for-All Day. Black History Festival – Pasadena: The 44th annual festival that includes a classic car show, family activities, performances and community resource booths, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 21. Free admission. Golden Dragon Parade: The Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles presents the 127th parade — celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse — that includes traditional lion and dragon dance teams, bands, dance troupes, dignitaries, elected officials and cultural groups, 1-4 p.m. Feb. 21. New Congregational Missionary Baptist Church – 58th Anniversary and Black History Event: The Rev. Isaiah Robertson leads the praise and worship 10 a.m. Sunday service on Feb. 22, that includes a revelation – to many – that the congregation’s building is one of the first commissions of architect Paul R. Williams after becoming the first Black American admitted, in 1923, to the American Institute of Architects. The church was designed in 1927 by Williams who later became known as “architect to the stars” in Los Angeles. The congregation is unveiling an official plaque of their 1927 “little-known treasure” by Williams, and also celebrating its founding pastor the Rev. L.M. USC Trojan Affiliates – Prospective Membership Drive: The women’s organization in the San Gabriel Valley presents a talk by Andrew D. Bernstein, an award winning sports and entertainment photographer, author and podcast host (“Legends of Sports”), at a reception and membership drive for the organization, 6:15 p.m. March 5. Reservations to attend are required by March 1. Autographed books will be available for purchase at the event. The organization, meeting five times a year, raises scholarship funds for USC students. County Ventura St. Patrick’s Day Parade: The 2026 theme is “Catch the Leprechaun Spirit!” for the parade in the city of Ventura, 10 a.m. March 14. Grand marshal: Brian Brennan.
