Race Report: 2025 Hole Half Marathon
I finished all three of my local half marathons for the first time, a neat little milestone.
If anyone had told me at any point in my life that I’d get seriously into triathlons in my forties, I probably would have died laughing. Like many, I bought a bike in 2020 to try to get in shape—and let’s just say things escalated quickly from there.
My name is Guillermo Esteves. I’m an age-group triathlete based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in the heart of Grand Teton National Park. Although I’m still a beginner, I enjoy sharing what I learn during my training and races, paying it forward like many others have done for me along the way. Given to Tri is my triathlon blog, where I do exactly that. With multiple races of various distances scheduled over the coming months, I plan to keep swimming, cycling, and running for many years to come. I hope you’ll come along for the ride.

I finished my tenth Ironman 70.3 with no regrets.
A solid result despite a sleepless night, a rough swim, and one judgmental cowboy.
A cold snap in Coeur d’Alene ultimately gave way to an almost perfect day for racing.
My second half marathon in as many weeks—and a final tune-up before Ironman 70.3 Coeur d’Alene.
New Bike Day! I’m now the proud owner of a brand new Trek Speed Concept SLR 7, which I’m calling “Shadowfax.”
An awesome treadmill backed by an excellent iPad app, but marred by Technogym’s abysmal customer support, which makes it hard to recommend.
Doing TrainerRoad workouts in Zwift just got a lot easier.
I’m currently in Jackson Hole, Wyoming The elevation is 1,969 m It’s clear, with a temperature of 4ºC, which feels like 6ºC, 45% humidity, and a light breeze of 10 km/h from the southwest The air quality is good, with an AQI of 21 Today’s forecast is mostly clear, with a high of 4ºC and a low of -14ºC Sunset will be at 6:02 PM It’s a good day to train indoors!
Welcome to The Rock.
I can’t wait to see what surprises the weather will have for us this time around.
A 70.3 in a scenic mountain town, at elevation, with a hilly bike, on my birthday. Hell, yes.
