╰┈➤˗ˏˋ OMG TJR punched me right in the heart within the first chapter in this one!! To say that I completely related to the FMC is such an understatement.
⋆✴︎˚。⋆ ALL. THE. STARS. ݁₊ ✶. ݁ ˖ˎˊ˗
➺ Little bit of context- my husband was killed in a motorcycle accident (many years ago), no he was not getting me fruity pebbles but he was on his way to work. I went through almost all of these stages that Elsie did. I've never read the synopses for TJR's works because DUHH it's TJR and I devour every single one of her books, no blurb necessary.
Anyway, it's been a good long while since I have had a novel truly gut punch me and emotionally break me down, no surprise it was Jenkins Reid to do it. And I LOVED it.
In typical fashion with this author I was immediately pulled into the story and it had me in a chokehold until the very end. She really just has the ability to write her characters to be so relatable, so realistic.. they are honestly always someone I could see myself being friends with, I feel this is one of the factors that gives her the ability to rip my heart out , repair it and place in neatly back in my chest.
╰┈➤˗ˏˋ We follow Elsie our FMC who has just recently within a week gotten married to her relatively short term boyfriend. They were caught up in an epic love that hit hard and fast. Ben goes out on his bicycle to go pick up a box of fruity pebbles per his new wife's request and is struck by a vehicle and killed.
The author does such an amazingly accurate and descriptive job of taking us through the process of losing your true love and all of the things that you are bombarded with.
The whole process of allowing yourself to grieve, get angry, take it out on the wrong people, ask for forgiveness, deal with people that think they know your partner better than you do, get angry again, fall apart and put yourself back together again before the grief consumes you completely.

Omg thank you babes! I forgot I even reviewed any books for TJR lol. 💙💙
Thank you love 💗💗💗🥹🫂
Thank you, Deepak - that means a lot 🥹🫂💗
Thank you my darling 💗💗 that means so much - you are a mf warrior too! Much love to you and for you babes! 💗💗
Lmao. Don't delete now haha 😭💖🫂 I think - read this one first!
One True Loves crushed me too. I really love TJR for evoking those emotions out of us. I'm pretty tough on chick lit and contemporary romance.
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, Hannah - it's not an easy event to get through. I think that's why I can appreciate TJR- the way she writes these types of stories really speak to me too. Often, authors don't manage to make it seem realistic to me? But she always does. Glad you enjoyed them too. 🫂💘
It's cathartic and relatable. I lost him many years ago now (many yearrrrsss lol like I'm so old) but it definitely pulled at my heart strings. Thank you so much my love 🫂💘
Thanks babes- it was excellent. Idk what the low rating is about 💛
Thank you so much beauty! I can't recommend TJR's books enough. I've loved them all. 🩷
Oh girl - when you're in the mood to sob check out literally any of her books. I highly recommend Daisy Jones and the Six on audio because it's written in interview format. They're all so so good. Hope you love them when you get the chance to pick em up. Thank you lovely 🩷
